Where I shop Workout Wear

I am all for the athleisure trend! There is something comforting about being able to just wear some sweats and a tee or leggings around running errands. I have a few favorite places that I really do enjoy getting my workout clothes from. While I used to just wear a big shirt and shorts, wearing workout clothes makes it more fun to actually go to the gym and also the cuter the pieces, the better the workout! (Okay that one may not be true but it sounds nice)

My Favorite Places to show athleisure:

Workout wear is designed to be breathable and stretchy. Great for long walks around the block or long weekends on the couch! I am usually that person that goes for black, white, or pink active wear so I can wear it on my plane rides. Every time I think of getting something I think if I would wear it on a trip so that I can get the most use out of it!

Where do you shop for workout wear?

If I am being honest, I didn’t really see too much of a point in wearing quality activewear until recently. If you are doing a workout class the fabric is better and you do not have to tug and pull at your clothes. I recently purchased my first pair of gym shark leggings and they have such a flattering fit that it keeps you going because when I look in the mirror I like what I see! It’s all a psychological thing!

Being Comfortable in Front of the Camera

I always get questions when I shoot as to how to pose or what to do when you’re in front of a camera. I think this will be a hard blog post to write as it is something I just do and is easier to show. I do have a few tips to share, of course, but I also just want to say I have my go-to moves! Picking up my leg or playing with my hair is always just natural for me. I also just search pinterest and Instagram and copy what I see as well. I think when you find your angles and what you like the most, that is what you should stick with and do different variations of!

My Photo Tips

Moving naturally like walking or adding a slight jump, or a genuine laugh is what makes pictures look an feel authentic!

You have to just go for it sometimes. Yes people may look or you have to go out of your way to get a good shot, but it is worth it and plus they will forget and so will you!

Posing in the mirror is a big one as well. Before shooting I always pose in the mirror and see what I want to play up outfit wise.

The best pictures are the creative ones! Add props, colors, and filters to make your image stand out!

Set up a scene, a picture is worth a thousand words so let your pictures tell a story

Let’s talk outfit details! This skirt actually can double as a dress on me since it is pretty long! I actually wore it as a dress to work with my sneakers and I loved the look! I’ll have to shoot it as well! This top is from Pretty Little Thing and shows the perfect amount of skin since the skirt is so long on me. I wanted to wear different heels but I went with these because of the height. I also found it the day before I shot this look at Wasteland on Melrose and I loved the loops at the top. Simple details like that really stand out to me.

Of course I had to add my Lack of Color Hat! I definitely need another one as well because I wear this one so often but the color is perfect for the blog. I shot this look in Venice on Abbot Kinney and I think it really matched the vibe of the street since it is a great place to shop and hang out.

These photos were taken by a photographer named Danny (@ddmportraits on Instagram) and I loved how they came out! If you are in the Los Angeles area and looking for someone new to shoot with, definitely check out his page!

Pretty Little Thing Haul

(This is a sponsored post and is an AD)

I’m collaborating with Pretty Little Thing just in time for Summer! From trendy pieces to neutral necessities, PLT is a go-to for me. (I would say that even if this wasn’t an AD) I picked each of these pieces out and I made a super shot video trying on some of these summer musts. I cannot wait to style them different ways and dress them up for more blog posts to come!

Outfit Details :

Let’s just talk about this utility jumpsuit! I am obsessed with this cool trend! I would size down if you are interested as it can be a bit bulky.

The ribbed plunge unitard is seriously so killer! I already know how I want to wear it! (Get one size up)

I’ve actually worn this black slinky unitard twice since I’ve gotten it! It fits perfectly and I’ve worn it to both an event and on a hike and it felt amazing.

This Oversized Zip front sweater is a must when traveling! I always get so cold on planes and want to cuddle up on car rides so this is a must!

This sweater dress may be a tad too big (size small) but if I have the length hemmed it is perfect. I love an oversized look like this with booties or thigh highs. Again such a comfy cool travel option.

The black ruffle mesh plunge bodysuit is HOT HOT HOT. I would size up on this one!

Lastly, the cream satin backless strappy crop is super sweet. Depending on your bust size, I would order two sizes up. I ordered one size up and I think I would have rather went up two sizes.
