I am all for the athleisure trend! There is something comforting about being able to just wear some sweats and a tee or leggings around running errands. I have a few favorite places that I really do enjoy getting my workout clothes from. While I used to just wear a big shirt and shorts, wearing workout clothes makes it more fun to actually go to the gym and also the cuter the pieces, the better the workout! (Okay that one may not be true but it sounds nice)
My Favorite Places to show athleisure:
Workout wear is designed to be breathable and stretchy. Great for long walks around the block or long weekends on the couch! I am usually that person that goes for black, white, or pink active wear so I can wear it on my plane rides. Every time I think of getting something I think if I would wear it on a trip so that I can get the most use out of it!
Where do you shop for workout wear?
If I am being honest, I didn’t really see too much of a point in wearing quality activewear until recently. If you are doing a workout class the fabric is better and you do not have to tug and pull at your clothes. I recently purchased my first pair of gym shark leggings and they have such a flattering fit that it keeps you going because when I look in the mirror I like what I see! It’s all a psychological thing!
I was so lucky to have been invited to the Lulu’s pop-up before it opened to view the collections! I had so much fun and saw so many LA bloggers that I follow on Instagram. What I loved most was that Lulu’s really did bring together the LA influencer community because I saw girls that had millions of followers with girls that had even less than I do.
It was a fun night overall, and we were all able to pick one free item, share a drink and light bites, and mingle. I really enjoyed seeing all of my friends and I wish more events were inclusive like this one.
One thing I definitely wanted to touch on as proposed by my friend Lola, was going to events alone. I think I did touch on this one a bit in a previous post, but really having the courage to go to these things alone is a big thing and I didn’t realize that. I guess it isn’t a big deal to me because I am basically alone out here in LA. I don’t have people to hold my hand and all of my friends I made out here.
My friend Lola who inspired the post!
Now I do want to say I did not just come out here to LA alone. I sublet with one of my sorority sisters so it was both of us and I got closer to the girls that we lived with. My sorority sister had to go back to Texas for school and my sublet ended so I did end up being pretty alone, but it was a transition still.
I think it is something that everyone should do though. Go have dinner out alone and go to the movies alone. It really is empowering when you get comfortable. I was told last night that I was BRAVE for going to the event alone. I thought to myself, actually, I just did not want to be stuck with just one person the whole night!
Moral of the story, go to things alone. Meet people. Step out of your comfort zone. Do the things that a basic things that grow you as a person. Thank me later! *winky face*
If you’re in the LA area from September 28th – October 6th go check out the pop-up on Melrose Avenue!
Copying someone is the sincerest form of flattery. While I do believe this I actually hate when people copy me. I copy people all the time though! Very hypocritical for sure! But I get my best inspiration from others. I am working on allowing myself to be flattered of course.
When I find something I really like (and it’s mostly clothing inspiration) I always screenshot it or save it to my notes. I am HUGE when it comes to notes and describing things for me to remember.
I actually got inspiration for this outfit from multiple bloggers on my Instagram feed! I loved the look of the shirt because I saw it everywhere! I just had to have it for myself because it answered the three questions from my last blog post. I also really like playing up a long sleeve with shorts and these shoes just went so perfectly I had to add them.
Some of my tips:
- Tell someone you really like it and even that you want to recreate the idea behind it
- Make it your own and put a personal twist on it
- Give them credit for being your inspiration
Thank you again to Lulu’s for gifting me with this amazing top! I have honestly been wearing it non-stop and this belt bag is to DIE for. My shoes were also gifted from ShoeDazzle and I am head over heels for the thigh-high snake print because I cannot resist a good thigh-high!
What’s your favorite type of shoe?

This is a bit more of a dressy casual look for me. Perfect for the weekend in LA! I am always in a white tee and jeans so this was an easy one for me. One thing I definitely did was add cool accessories to complete the look. I am all for a simplistic look and this belt bag really made it functional.
Almost all of this outfit was gifted from Lulu’s! I was so happy to be able to collaborate with a brand that I love so much and I really shop at. I have been truly blessed to be collaborating with more brands that I truly love and want to share with all of my followers. I love being able to be creative and show off some outfit inspiration and wear something fun or cool for everyone.
I posted a video of me practicing my poses on my stories on Instagram, did you see them?
I shot these pictures on Rodeo on a Sunday which is like a huge tourist spot. I thought it would be a good shoot though because I always want to wear my outfits in a real situation and write about where you can actually wear them. This is something that I would repeat and wear on another weekend out because these shoes are so easy to walk in, I don’t have to hold the bag, and the sunglasses are a must for LA. This tee is going to be on repeat all Summer/Fall because of the high neckline.
